As an IT Support amp; Service Desk Operator you will join the team responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and operation of the group’s corporate internal IT Infrastructure, including network, servers, desktops, printers and data storage.
Reporting to the Team Leader, the ideal candidate will possess a minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position. This role is a shift basis position. Selected individuals are expected to work shifts occurring at varying times of the day (including night shifts) and varying days of the week (including weekends/public holidays).
- Responsible for installing, configuring, updating and maintaining computer hardware operating systems and applications for all IT company assets.
- Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks and proactively escalate to other IT Teams and/or Third Parties.
- Ensure the stable operation, availability, reliability and serviceability of the group's desktop and network environment.
- Test and evaluate new technology and troubleshoot the system and the network to diagnose and solve hardware/software faults.
- Ensure minimum downtime and optimal performance through proactive planning, tuning, troubleshooting, problem diagnosis and monitoring.
- Communicate with staff of other branch offices and clients through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone or by remote assistance to help set up systems or resolve issues.
- Maintain and improve the IT asset register.
- Assist in nurturing a culture of data and network security within the organisation.
- Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Add value to tickets before escalating to higher technical departments, support the roll-out of new applications and respond within SLAs to reported requests and incidents.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar position, in IT Technical writing and documentation.
- ITIL foundation certified and IT Degree and/or CNE qualifications.
- Able to take initiative, to communicate with all users at all levels of business, apply problem solving techniques, be willing to learn to improve, organised, and be able to work on tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Account users, e-mailboxes, Windows, Linux Desktop OS, Microsoft Office Suite, Networking concepts, Integration and Systems test.
- Strong analytical troubleshooting skills for IT.
- Good awareness of IT data security standards.
- Experience with an online gaming company is a plus, but not essential.
