Job Description

Purpose of Position:

To act as Support Services to the PM Team and assist Management as may be required in the below-listed activities.

Duties amp; Responsibilities:

  • Communicate, collaborate and devise a project plan template to be employed within the Projects Department.
  • In conjunction with the PM responsible for each project, create project plans devised to a pre-established template for Stages I, II and III which are to be then tracked on a regular basis during implementation phase.
  • Adopt the Projects Master program devised by the Manager and update on a regular basis as directed by Management.
  • In conjunction with the PM responsible for each project, review Contractors submitted programs, compare with the department’s baseline and establish a common tracking mechanism for all PMs.
  • Establish an effective baseline change control mechanism.
  • Create and implement standardised systems to manage company documents
  • Be the principal champion of the Autodesk Construction Cloud recently launched within the Projects Department which provides a toolset for managing, sharing, and accessing project documents that results in streamlined workflows between the office, trailer, and jobsite using issues and forms, RFIs, submittals, and meetings to manage the flow of information in the project.
  • Configure the ACC platform for all the medium sized and major projects within the Projects Department in accordance with configuration parameters set by Management.
  • Devise a training program for new employees and external users of the ACC system including contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Organize and deliver training to external users of the ACC system.
  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day requirement of the ACC system to ensure that this is being utilized according to the established protocols. Conduct company audits to ensure documents are being followed
  • Create customised effective reporting within the system to inform Management of all ongoing projects efficiently.
  • In collaboration with Management design and implement a new system for the management of project documentation in hard format.
  • Develop standard specification documentation to be employed for projects where no external consultants are engaged.
  • Review and discuss with Management project drawings prepared in-house as well as those prepared by consultants to generally confirm the desired design intent.
  • Develop and roll-out standard list of deliverables to consultants required for Stages I and II
  • Assist Management in conducting design meetings, critiques for the major projects with consultants and in the preparation of RFQ’s for the civils and architectural consultants as well as minor to medium-sized project RFQ’s as may be required.

Requirements

Qualifications amp; Skills

  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in a similar role;
  • Preference shall be given to those with experience in civil engineering services and/or construction;
  • Very good analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills;
  • An ability to work unsupervised and work in multi-disciplinary teams;
  • Experience in the use of Autocad, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office;
  • Able to work flexible hours;
  • A valid driving license;
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety amp; Environmental best practice.
