Job Description

Malta International Airport plc is looking for dynamic individuals who are passionate about working with people within an Airport environment, and are willing to continuously learn, develop, and be part of a high-performance culture. This vacancy has arisen within the Procurement amp; Stores Department.

Purpose of Position:

To oversee the Procurement and Stores Department. To assist the manager with leading the procurement and stores team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing procurement strategies and policies.
  • Assisting manager with setting personal and team targets for the team, identifying training needs and evaluating performance.
  • Collaborate with departments to identify procurement needs and specifications.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and products.
  • Participate in supplier evaluation and selection processes.
  • Maintain relationships with key suppliers and manage supplier performance.
  • Monitor supplier contracts and agreements to ensure compliance.
  • Resolve any supply-related issues and disputes.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control measures.
  • Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to track and expedite orders as needed.
  • Analyse pricing proposals and negotiate prices with suppliers.
  • Monitor and control procurement costs to meet budgetary constraints.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-effective procurement strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, and invoices.
  • Prepare reports on procurement activities and expenses.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in procurement and store management.
  • Implement best practices and industry standards to optimize procurement operations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as operations, finance, and quality assurance to align procurement processes.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers to convey requirements and resolve issues.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

· Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master's degree may be preferred for senior roles).

· 2-5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or inventory management.

· Experience leading a team.

· Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

· Knowledge of procurement software and tools.

· Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.

· Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

· Attention to detail and organizational skills.

Certifications (optional but beneficial):

· Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)

· Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)

· Other relevant industry certifications.
