This vacancy has arisen within the Procurement amp; Stores Department.
Purpose of Position:
To assist the Manager in the daily running of the Procurement and Stores Department.
Main Responsibilities:
- Identify potential suppliers and conduct evaluations to ensure they meet MIAβs standards.
- Negotiate contracts, prices terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve the best outcome for the organisation.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, communicate effectively, resolve issues, and take corrective actions when suppliers fail to meet agreed-upon standards.
- Engaging and liaising with Company departments to ensure procurement needs are met and that best procurement practices are followed.
- Analyze pricing proposals and make recommendations for cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Generate reports to track procurement activities and expenses.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
- Implement best practices and industry standards to optimize procurement operations.
- Assisting the Manager in the daily running of the department.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a senior role within procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of procurement software and tools.
- In-depth knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
Certifications (optional but beneficial):
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP
- Other relevant industry certifications.
