Purpose of Position:
To assist the project manager with administrative support while working on projects in line with MIA’s strategy.
Duties amp; Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute projects in compliance with project documents, budgets, and regulations.
- Supervise project implementation and manage documentation.
- Compilation of the necessary RFQs/tenders comprising drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities as well as an outline Project Plan.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Track project during implementation and update the Project Plan as required on a periodic basis.
- Provide engineering expertise for small projects and assist with procurement and contract reviews.
- Facilitate the site and quantity surveying functions which may be carried out by the company, contractor and/or civil engineering or finishing consultants.
- Report to Management any instances when infringements occur on site especially when concerning company policies and Hamp;S regulations.
- To prepare, for small works and projects, mechanical and electrical engineering-related technical designs, specifications, and BOQ’s.
- To assist with the preparation of requests for quotes or tenders necessary for the provision of external engineering consultancy and contract work for other infrastructure-related projects.
- To assist in the review of submitted specifications and adjudication of engineering-related contracts.
- Identify energy efficiency opportunities for the airport..
General Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean environment at MIA premises.
- Report and address any shortcomings promptly.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Perform other designated tasks as assigned by the Company.
Requirements
- Be in possession of least MQF Level 6 Qualification or equivalent in Mamp;E Engineering;
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in a similar role;
- Preference shall be given to those with a project management qualification and project management experience in engineering services and/or construction;
- Very good analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills;
- An ability to work unsupervised and work in multi-disciplinary teams;
- Experience in the use of AutoCAD, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office;
- Able to work flexible hours;
- A valid driving license;
- Knowledge of Health, Safety amp; Environmental best practice.
