SQL Database Administrator

What will you be bringing to the team?

• Fix High Availability SQL Server issues
  
• Perform database maintenance/task streamlining
• Optimize database maintenance plan
• Investigate backup/restore issues
• Optimize database replication to the disaster recovery site
• Migrate Azure MySQL Single servers to Azure MySQL Flexible servers
• Assist in the automation of on-demand database backups
• Perform on-demand database backup and restore
• Monitor SQL server cluster performance and anticipate issues
• Patch/Update of database servers/infrastructure
• Investigate/Manage incidents and propose short- and long-term solutions
• Respond to requests for database creation, user privilege assignment
• Administer instances of Azure Databases for MySQL and Azure SQL Databases as well as Microsoft SQL Server on-prem

Requirements

What do you need to succeed in this position?

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Higher Education
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a SQL Database Administrator
• Good knowledge of database design principles and practices
• Experience with database design, implementation, administration, and maintenance
• Experience with SQL Server replication, backups, and restores
• Knowledge of SQL server administration on other cloud providers infrastructure e.g. AWS
• Experience with migration Azure MySQL Single servers to Azure MySQL Flexible servers
• Experience with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
• Ability to perform performance tuning and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server on-prem 2014/2016/2019
• Excellent knowledge of the English language (written and verbal)
